Art
Art and Design is taught as a discreet subject.
Our Art and Design curriculum is based around exploring four key areas: generating ideas, creating, knowledge and evaluating. These key areas will be explored in each Art topic so that children develop an excellent understanding of them by the time they leave Leigh at the end of Year 6.
The aim for Art and Design at Leigh Primary is to enable our children to:
- Produce creative work
- Explore their ideas and experiences
- Develop skills in drawing, painting, textiles, sculpture and printing
- Evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design
- Know about great artists, craft makers and designers
